Retail Global Facility ManagementGlobal Facility Management – According to CBRE Group Inc.’s 10th annual study of international retail expansion*. The survey found that retailers’ expansion into new markets increased by 2% in 2016, down from 2015 CBRE’S study where it showed it was up at 3.1%.

Perhaps due to the dollar’s strength, compared to other international currency,  American retailers were the most active in expansion at the city level by 21%, the next to follow was Italy at 12% and France at 11%.

American retailers instead are targeting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East for much of their expansion into new markets, especially for food and beverage.

With this happening in the industry, it’s no wonder that an organization like the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) has become a haven for today’s global facility management professionals.
